Chapeau, Mr. Chomsky

If you wish to read black on white, voilà.

Stop Watching Us

Now that will teach them.

Still, why not?

I do think, though, the lousy little low-intelligent contractors on the other side of the pond who for money would probably even sell their grandmothers will neither get stopped by their masters nor by their conscience due to a petition signed by 500,000 or several millions of MUPs (Most unimportant persons);  same goes for their British brothers in crime (GCHQ), and for any other secret service.

Alas! If at least they stopped to use the word 'intelligence' pertaining to their spooks. It's just ridiculous.

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

[The National Security Agency's] capability at any time could be turned around on the American people, and no American would have any privacy left, such is the capability to monitor everything: telephone conversations, telegrams, it doesn’t matter. There would be no place to hide.

Unwarranted government surveillance is an intrusion on basic human rights that threatens the very foundations of a democratic society.

Democracy requires an informed citizenry in order to function properly, and transparency and accountability are essential parts of that. That means knowing what our government is doing to us, in our name.

Powerful Protest

Not sure if what he did was a clever act of self promotion or a spontaneous action.
I consider this kind of protest more powerful than any kind of violence.

The video above reminded me of the so-called Tank Man.
When I posted the video made on June 5th, 1989 I prefered to call him Peaceman.

Going back to watch the embedded video again I had to learn that thanks to a certain nonprofit organisation, a so-called WGBH Educational Foundation it is not to be seen anymore.
Obviously making money is more worthwhile than educating.

Friday is Skyday

Leaning back to watch the sky
sometimes I try to count
how often those responsible for the politics
of the United States
have crossed a red line.

Recently I heard a peace-loving person murmur:
Isn't Obama but a fucking terrorist, himself?

Brave Defenders of Democracy

Taqiyya ... err ... Tayyip Erdoğan's pride:
Five brave defender of democracy
risking their lives against a heavily armed terrorist.

See the joy
in this brave civil policeman's face?
And here another police hero
defending democracy against a "Terror-Lady in Red"
There are more nice photos to be seen here.

Okay, that's Turkey. Of course, such things could not happen in the most wonderful of all democracies in this universe and those yet to discover, could they?

Oops. Isn't that Lt John Pike
defending the USA against a whole bunch of terrorists?

I get the feeling as if only recently there was a man saying: "When I see a policeman with a club beating a man on the ground, I don't have to ask whose side I'm on."

Now, Lt. Pike and his brave Turkish comrades  – they all definitely being beacons of intelligence – will teach this George Orwell, once they have caught him, I bet.

Freeing Turkey from Justice

An excellent coverage of what happens in Turkey offers Professor Erkan Saka's Field Diary.
